All 11 Consortium Schools are open to Reception, Year 1 and 6 pupils, also to vulnerable pupils and key worker children where space allows. Nurseries are also operating at our schools with that provision. Under existing government social distancing guidance and local risk assessments spaces are restricted you MUST call the school to see if a place is available. We are delighted to announce that we will be operating a new nursery setting at Kirkley from Sepetmber 2020.

Welcome to Consortium Multi Academy Trust

Welcome to the Consortium Multi Academy Trust website, we hope that it will give you all the information you need.

Consortium's fundamental aim is to maintain and enhance the position of community schools at the heart of our communities across Suffolk and Norfolk.  We have a passion for and recognise that for our smaller primary schools to remain vibrant and viable, closer integration and collaborative working is necessary to ensure that our curriculum is exciting, provision is full and the outcomes for pupils are exceptional.  Our structure offers the framework to support these schools within a bigger family of schools. In addition to primary schools, we are interested in developing our existing family of schools to include secondary and special provision, providing an holistic approach to education.

We exist to support our schools, communities and children not as a business but as a mutual co-operative of professionals.  Where our schools share financial, physical and intellectual resources, pooling them at the appropriate level with the primary aim to secure better outcomes for our pupils.

I am proud to be the CEO and Principal of the Consortium Multi Academy Trust, we have a great team and at every level, determined to deliver on our aims for the children that we serve.  I hope that you enjoy navigating around our website and those of our member schools.

For schools at the beginning of your academy thought process, I would like to encourage you to consider the 'Associate School' status - an annual fee based on your October census entitles your school to access many included and reduced (competitively) priced services.  I also hope that your membership will also strengthen and develop the entire Trust, through extensive collaborative working.

As a former Primary Headteacher myself I understand the magnitude of the decision to academise and choosing the right Multi Academy Trust is absolutely key.  This 'try before you buy' provision allows you, your governors and staff to get a true feel for CMAT.  As a Trust we are able to carry out the 'Due Diligence' process over the year, that enables both sides to move forward with confidence and most importantly with a shared vision and ethos for our schools and pupils.  Full details of what we offer can be found in the document below.

Of course, in the unlikely event it doesn't work out for either side or more time as an associate school is needed there is no obligation to progress to full academisation.

We have a lot to offer and whatever your interest in Consortium Multi Academy Trust, we would be delighted to meet you.

Andrew Aalders-Dunthorne,
Principal and CEO of Consortium Multi Academy Trust
